Stuff

Hi, I've been a little lax about posting lately. Don't feel like I have a lot to say.
The History Party was a lot of fun...we learned about some interesting people. It is a very educational party. AND FUN!
The Robot kids have been working, collecting money and demonstrating the robot. It looks like they've collected enough donations to get to Ft. Smith and have a bed to sleep in. YEA!!
We had our grandkids out last week end. It was a bit challenging but ended up being alot of fun and we're glad they came!
We have a little break in the month coming up. We don't have PE on Thursdays. I will be looking forward to that. We have Karate on Mondays, Archery AND Karate on Wednesdays and usually 2 hours of PE on Thursdays. It will however resume on Thursdays in January. But at a better time for me.
I hope all of you are having a great week!!

History Party

Yesterday I talked about getting ready for the 5th Annual History Party, with our homeschool group. I will be hosting it at my house this year. I've decided to have everyone bring "finger food". Brownies, cookies, fruit, veggies, dip.....you get the idea.
We study a person, from history that they want to "be". The guests may choose to dress up or not. They will take notes and tell the group what they did in history without telling their names. The group asks questions to figure out who they are, we write our answers on a sheet of paper at the end, whoever guesses the most correct people, wins a prize. We will have an "adult" prize and a "kids" prize...probably a gift card. Some of the parents choose to dress up, too. The kids get a real kick out of it and we all learn about different people in history. Now for the younger kids (under 6), they can come as a super hero, Sponge Bob, Tom Sawyer, they don't have to be a "real" person.

Getting ready for Guests

Sunday is my cleaning day and day to get organized. I try to clean house, do some laundry and get ready for Caleb's homeschooling. Also, since we Shabbat on Saturday, the house is always a mess.
Next Sunday, I'm having our homeschool group out to a History Party. We've done this about 4 years, I think. This is the first time I've had the HS group at my house. So I'm trying to think of an organized system to get the house spic & span. You know, sometimes you let it go and then you realize you have STUFF all over. I need to clean out nooks & crannies. So, I guess I will try to get stuff picked up today, laundry, of course, sweep floors, clean bathrooms and then about Thursday, I will only need to "tidy" up a little and dust & vacuum on Friday ....it's still a working thought in my head...but I bet I'll get it done. If only I get get my MEN to keep it that way through Shabbat!
**I'll explain the History Party tomorrow..It's alot of fun.**

New Blog

We met a couple of girls in line at the Pioneer Woman's cookbook signing. They were alot of fun to talk to. Their names were Alison and Laini. They didn't bring a camera, so I took some pictures for them.
Alison has a blog, http://www.alisnwonderland.blogspot.com I think this may be the right address. It is on my blog list. I've read it and it's going to be fun. Go read it...you'll probably like it!
And she need followers...just like me! (Why doesn't anyone follow???)
I'm also noticing that the "blogfrog" shows that the Pioneer Woman has stopped by here...is that true?? Ree, if you are visiting me, would you PLEASE comment and let me know?? I'm wondering if it's being sabotaged and she doesn't really come visit?? I comment on hers almost everyday. Maybe it's MM?? or the PUNKS??? That would make me happy, too.
I'm still loving the cookbook, I don't want to read it all at once...I'm savoring!
Caleb & I went to see Astro Boy today. I liked it...I won't mind watching it a few more times, you know when it comes out on video and he watches it over & over & over....
Hey if you homeschool...check out our website http://www.homeeducationalliance.webs.com/
It has some interesting things on it.
I hope you all have a good week....it will be another busy one for us!!

The Pioneer Woman's Book Signing

The Pioneer Woman book signing was great. Pioneer Woman...Ree, was really gracious and talked to everyone like she was a good friend. She's as friendly as she seems to be. I wish I would've asked her more questions or had something profound to say but I was in awe.
We met a couple of girls in line and they were alot of fun to talk to. Their names were Alison and Laini. They didn't bring a camera, so I took some pictures for them. Alison has a blog, but I'm not sure I can give you the address....it may be on my blog list. I've read it and it's going to be fun. Go read it...you'll probably like it!
We also met and chatted with Ree's mom, she's a really sweet lady. She seemed to be surprised that we were there only for Ree's book signing. She couldn't believe the length of the line behind us. Ree's girls let us take pictures of them, too. They were having a good time.
Karen & I had a great time and we went to Macaroni Grill afterward. A great ending to a fabulous girls night out!!

Pioneer Woman is coming to town.

I am going to Ree's, (www.thepioneerwoman.com) cookbook signing tomorrow night and I CAN'T WAIT!

I am having all these anxiety issues though:

  • Will the line be so long that I won't be able to meet her?
  • If I DO meet her, will I say the stupidest things?
  • Is she going to see that my face is broke out like a teenagers...(that's another story, have had some medical issues going on...), it's like I'm going to prom or something!!
  • Should I bring a gift to her? Mike? her punks?

I know it will all work out, so I need to calm down and just let whatever happens, happen....right???
